Unfortunately, the OTS minibus used for community activities was stolen on Sunday 27 February between 12.30pm and 10.30pm when it became apparent that it had gone missing. Arif said, “We lost our football kit and equipment for other sports and more importantly the essential transport which enables us to provide our services”. We have appealed to anyone with information about the minibus’s whereabouts to contact the police with the crime reference number 4404462/22. The number plate of the minibus is SF66XXU. Police have not been able to find it so far.

The project provides a safe environment for the community with social activities such as football, cricket, running sessions, and other activities.

In the circumstances like this, it would leave us feeling devastated and in a state of paralysis. Losing all our equipment means we cannot run our sessions for the children. However, as a community, we are much stronger and more defiant. We will not let those who stole the minibus steal our community spirit. We are proud of the work that we have done for almost a decade, and this incident has made us stronger.

OTS has dedicated over £500 towards purchasing brand new equipment to continue running our football session this Sunday. We want the community to support us this Sunday at Valentines Park, Melbourne Fields, from 10am to show that we will not be deterred by what has happened.
